SCOUTING REPORT or BEDLAM in Greece

Scouting Report or Bedlam in Greece?
During a commercial TV break of a Premier league football game between Manchester United and Everton , four well known reporters of Scouting Report of Sports Channel- with a Dr. Freud photo in the background suggesting mental troubles- made not so funny faces, accompanied by eerie mannerisms of grief and misery; they were presenting sports news by mixing humor with football images. I was unhappy about their offensive humor .I was not alone; my friend visiting from Washington D.C, a father of a 12 -year-old son with Down Syndrome, asked me whether it was common practice in Athens, to make fun of people with mental disabilities. I understood his pain recalling human history full of shameful chapters of abuse , discrimination against and ridicule of people with emotional disorders . It was indeed as late as in the second half of 19th century in England at Bedlam where chained psychiatric patients served as subjects of entertainment : on special weekends visitors would pay a special fee to watch victims of psychotic disorders . Photo: William Norris , Bedlam patient 1815 So as if, discrimination against people with imperfect brains has also evolved. Now we have television reporters broadcasting prejudice. Here are some questions I have for the fellows from the Scouting Report: Will you educate the public about prejudice against people with mental illness? Do you know anyone with mental illness? What’s so funny about making fun of people with imperfect brains? The mother of prejudice against people with mental illness is ignorance and is the same toxin that governs grotesque acts of ethnic, racial or religious hatred. So this is Greece 2021. The birth place of democracy, Socrates, Plato and Hippocrates. Let us hope, ignorant ridicule of people with mental illness has not place anywhere in the world including Greece.

witch hunt of pain doctors

SEPTEMBER 23,2021 Dear Friends U.N. will be holding a panel discussion on the persecution and witchhunt of pain doctors in America. Please just spread the word and let others know. THANKS ALEN J SALERIAN MD To: The Law Project Greetings! As part of the Global Week of Action spearheaded by the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Action Campaign, National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc. (NJCDLP) is hosting a half-day online conference on its campaign, Opt IN USA Our first two hours will guide attendees through documented, national patterns of organized U.S. legal system abuse facilitated by unchecked judicial misconduct and the confirmed, related violation of America’s International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Is the solution compliance with U.N. guidelines on the right to a remedy and reparations for Americans accordingly left with ineffective domestic avenues of redress for persistent U.S. legal system abuse? Via a one (1) hour round table discussion our distinguished panelists will weigh-in on whether adherence to those guideline detailed by U.N. General Assembly Resolution 60/147 is the “Turning Point” our nation needs for individual, collective, and government healing. A Very Brief History of Life on Earth

Some call it rumors some others say science suggest life on earth began 3.6 billion years ago when the first microbes were born. It took sometime for microbes to reproduce and evolve to more complex and intelligent creatures including modern humans that emerged in East Africa 56,000 years ago. This fascinating journey would continue with humans not only creating new humans and migrating to distant parts of the earth, but also producing microbes to ensure their health and survival. Perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence that the very microbes humans produced also evolved and became capable to decompose humans no longer alive , a biological phenomenon known as mammalian decomposition. So to summarize ,we were all born as microbes then grew larger and smarter overtime evolving into intelligent apes to produce microbes and also to engineer microbes and vaccines.

some dreams come true

SOME DREAMS COME TRUE
Not all dreams come true True are some dreams Some like formula 1 races Jaguars are hunting Not that giraffes and zebras easy prey You see when traveling fast Your grandma and strangers Look like dots far away Till smell of blood and tires But this poem is not about cars What’s so enchanting Uplifting moments No mass killings we call wars When humans are dots Reason shall triumph some day Here is some good news Triumphant trumpets marching All wars banned Joyful gorillas in air Bursting with pride Some can’t believe Jungle without homicides Some dreams come true Feels so marvelous Never ever awaken me Let us evolve Let us be Let sun rise for reason

This delicious life

This Delicious Life

Sometimes I surprise myself

For enjoying wine

I ask myself

Why fear rules the earth

I worship  freedom

Dancing naked at midnight

The moon my friend

This delicious life

I cherish so much

Symphony of crickets

Whispering waves and wind

Let me sip coffee

Thinking and thinking

This delicious world

Smart thieves in charge

Thieves or no thieves

Love this marvelous life

mountain of love

 Mountain of Love

In loving memory of Zerrin Bolukbasi

Salerian AJ photo /V and Bolukbasi Z sculpture-Love

This fabulous mountain

Far away and nearby

Like loving emotions

Stretching till they snap

But you want to find love

Not hear mountain tales

Not ancient love

Here and now

Not tomorrow or yesterday

Fresh raw fire

Some say

Only time can measure

No simple  bonding test

Gifts flowers pledges say little

Like the mountain

When snow comes

Watch the mountain

Let snow come

Blizzards of white beauty

Ice Age talking

No pillow chats

No fireplace or hot ashes

You will know

Does the mountain change?

hagia sophia survey

 HAGIA SOPHIA SURVEY

I did a  survey about Hagia Sophia.

I was curious to find out whether there, would be enough public interest to promote organized efforts to maintain Hagia Sophia as a museum . Out of 98 people who received the survey only three people responded.

In essence this mini survey suggests ,in general people don’t care about what happens to Hagia Sophia and whether it is a mosque or a museum.
