It’s Over
Love, Salerian AJ,oil painting
That summer day
On the tall boat by the big
Island
When you said
“It’s over”
A fat fish asleep in my stomach
Stopped breathing
Not flapping wings
My lungs too ceased inhaling air
Dumbfounded by misery
Immense pain of sheer envy
Envy of a fat fish
Realizing
I love you
And watching a big fat fish
Jumping high
Swimming wild
Speaking softly
“it’s never over
Till the fat lady sings”
