Evidence-Based Medicine And The War On Drugs

     Evidence-Based Medicine
         And The War On Drugs

Several human errors contribute to the flawed scientific basis of the war on drugs:
§  CDC message that prescription pain medications cause an epidemic of heroine addiction is inaccurate.
§  CDC message that prescription pain medications cause an epidemic of
overdose deaths is inaccurate.
§  Annual methadone deaths are exaggerated (any death with methadone in the body reported as death by methadone without the necessary clinical laboratory or autopsy evidence).
§  Disproportionately high public attention to heroin fatalities (3 per 100,000 population- same as motorcycle accidents-versus 12.6 per 100000 population for suicide, a valid measure of death due to psychiatric illness).

§  The man-made” mass Sandy Hook Delusion’ wrongly reinforces an inaccurate association between people with mental illness and mass murder.
