MR ASS MR MULE AND Washington DR SALERIAN POEM IMAGE

17.  Mr. Ass  Mr. Mule And Washington

“We were once horses”
A mule and a donkey
Reminiscing old days
This tearful ass recalling
“That horse was far away
Far real far away
Climbing uphill puffing huffing
 I ‘d never seen a mad horse
On wheels and rails
Wrong I was very wrong
Thinking this old thing
Would not make it
Then from nowhere
Rolling over my belly
I was left disfigured
Short and big ears forever

Hey Mr Mule what's your story"
Curious I poked as Mr. Mule began talking
“ Saw the fat horse all the way
Crazy I thought
 A horse billowing smoke
You dumb ass come near me
I'll show you my smoke
When it came
I kicked hard very hard
My mistake huge mistake
Missing him and falling
HIs sharp nails rails and wheels
Precise castration
My thing cut forever gone ”

“ Thank you my Mr. Ass and Mr. Mule”I said
‘Thanks for your painful memories
 How strange do  they sound
 Your train wreck stories
 Echo life in modern world
 We in Washington
 Not blessed by mad trains
 Only bad agencies

 Striking humans”

I came from istanbul dr salerian poem -image

 I Came From Istanbul

My religion peace
My race is a long journey
A long one
Born a naked ape
Raised American
Of immigrant blood
In search of meaning
Of elephants and forests
Losing sleep
Losing a lot of sleep

Yet every day
A clue
A new cue
A miniscule light
Then I realize
Swimming with dolphins
Surviving the ocean
I came from Istanbul
And the rumors
Are plain lies
Fox spreading rumors
I came from earth dust and water

 My hair and eyes show
 My eyebrows tell
I am and I shall be
My mama and baba
Love is mama
Peace is baba
Fox is dead wrong
I am mama and baba
I am their hair and skin
Their hair skin and soul

I came from Istanbul

never admit mistakes dr salerian poem image

Never Admit Mistakes

“We should never
Never ever
Admit mistakes”
My friend Giorgio
A Sicilian mule preaches
Born in that little village
Surrounded by vineyards
That's where
Exactly where
His kind father
A gentle mule received
Dozens and dozens
Mean lashes
Ripping skin some blood
All upon
Confession in confidence
Behind thick walls
“ Yes I did kick this short ape
Masquerading  doctor
Squeezing  my colonies”

Papa Georgio had barked
Cried and begged for mercy
The ape went on till….
Rumors of a bloodied vet
Pancaked and down
Engulfing entire village
 Rising anger
Waving whips and the wisdom
“Never admit wrongdoing”
Were born and inherited by
My friend George
Now a preacher
In that village

Not far from Washington
And that's why
 We would never admit
JFK's death was an inside job

The Gap Between Science And Practice In Psychiatry

The gap between scientific knowledge and common practice in psychiatry is huge.
The victims of this gap are people with mental and physical pain. The examples are many and worthy of public attention:
1.The classification of controlled substances is unscientific and accurate based upon archaic knowledge. Many medications with limited potential harm from overuse --such as several attention deficit disorder and pain medications-- are tightly controlled with burdensome regulations.
    2. Many common psychiatric disorders such as depression and substance abuse are complications of various primary brain disorders. Treating them as if they are primary independent disorders have greatly contributed to poor therapeutic outcome. For instance in general people with substance abuse problems  suffer from specific brain abnormalities  in orbitofrontal cortex function shown by functional MRI studies.

Science has made significant progress in finding answers for difficult mental problems. Sadly the same thing cannot be said about the politics of mental illness.

Orbiting the moon DR SALERIAN POEM – image

14.Orbiting The Moon

 Is love
 Orbiting the moon
 By boat
 Fueled by passion?
 Is Love
 Ancient fuel
Different things
Magical moon?

 Is love grandpa
 Dogs cats and gay?
Who says
Silent nature
Flowers say
“We are gay”

Trees
 Entangled in love
Bees loving honey
Mountains falling in love
Blinded by valleys
Hikers climbing
And rushing down
Flooding rivers
Going to the moon
By boat

Fired by passion
