THE WAR ON DRUGS
§ Dr. profiling based upon DEA records.
§ Wiretapping and undercover agents in examination rooms.
§ Fake patients with fake medical records to entrap doctors.
§ Passing confidential mass pharmacy data to local medical
boards for profiling and targeting doctors.
§ Military raids with excessive and unnecessary use of force by large
numbers of armed agents invading homes and offices of physicians .
§ Confiscation of physician assets without due process (Total
estimated value: $5 billion in the last 10 years).
§ Refusal to
return confiscated assets after dismissal of charge
§ Threats and intimidation of pharmacists and other health
professionals to downgrade a physician’s ability to practice medicine.
§ Misinformation campaign: disseminating damaging
information about targeted doctors. Stamping medication bottles with “ the
physician is under DEA investigation” prior to indictment.
§ Terror and intimidation of patients to coerce them to false
testimony. This includes false arrests for routine traffic violations and
threats of losing custody of children with trumped up charges.
§ Pressure on banks and landlords to create a hostile environment for doctors
practicing pain medicine

use of federal funds (HDTA-high intensity drug trafficking area) to enable
local police to track drivers taking controlled substances. Thus making patients in need of controlled
substances easy targets for harassment.
§ Scientifically flawed statistics to mislead the public about
phantom epidemics of heroine addiction and overdose deaths from prescription
pain medications.
