“I am sorry , I hurt you” Is A Sign Of Progress

          A human is made of billions of cells. A nation is made of millions of humans.  A government is made of thousands of humans.

      Humans make mistakes. Governments make mistakes . Progress means acknowledging errors .

  Germany apologized for the Holocaust.  Neither Japan nor Turkey nor USA has ever apologized for catastrophic errors against Koreans, Chinese , Armenians and Vietnamese.    The Government of Israel -a nation of victims of discrimination throughout history-has not acknowledged any wrongdoing against its own citizens of Palestinian heritage.

      I commend Robert McNamara an extraordinary American with wisdom  to  acknowledge responsibility of our past wrongs . This is something to celebrate as evidence of evolution .

       Could we learn from Robert McNamara?
