Sandy Hook And Other Bad Events
Some 40 years ago, Dr. Elisabeth Kubler- Ross
wisely observed and described the often contradictory emotional responses to
impending death.
Denial,
bargaining, anger and acceptance are crucial steps in dealing with often combustible
emotions, she noted.
I believe
the emotional turmoil associated with impending death may also apply to facing
painful news in life.
For anyone
trapped in an emotionally difficult situation with a excruciatingly painful solution would often delay action for a good while. A bad marriage
or job for instance where the logical solution is the ability to face the
emotionally unacceptable choice of divorce.
We
Americans may have to possibly go through the contradictory emotional responses
in realizing that we coexist with a dual reality : Living a good life in a
seemingly orderly society filled with
big lies and big crimes against humanity . And worse wasting innocent young
lives and tax dollars to perpetuate constant fear, terror and wars.
We will
begin this process when we realize the truth -established by scientific
principles- behind Sentinel events like Sandy Hook , 9/11 etc.
