 The Armenian Genocide
  ALEN J Salerian MD

I'm troubled by the fireworks associated with the hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Humans make mistakes and their mistakes  could induce pain for future generations. Armenian genocide was not a conflict  between Armenians, Turkish Armenians or Turks.
It did not reflect the national mood. Armenians lived peacefully under Turkish Ottoman rule for centuries .
The genocide was a tragic error by a few military minds armed with state powers to exterminate  1 or 1.5 million civilians. It was  well organized and began with the elimination of intelligentsia( among them one comedian  26 members the parliament 64 doctors and 17 pharmacists).
10,000 Armenian priests perished as many churches were destroyed. The atrocities were committed by military precision and implemented by  death marches.
The Cerebrogenocide (killing of intelligentsia) and the elimination of 10,000 priests are DNA like evidence of genocide. Massacres do not have these  tragic signature traits .
For most humans to acknowledge past error is difficult. For bureaucracies it's almost impossible.

So my  friends do not blame our fellow Turkish brothers for what their government fails to do: To acknowledge  the Genocide.
