LONG LIVE HIPPOCRATES ,DR SALERIAN POEM

Long Live Hippocrates

It is a beautiful evening
No stars
No moon
No planets visible
Vast silence
Endless space talking
Murmuring
The end of my imprisonment
By barbarians
By well-meaning civil servants
Languishing freedom
Lavishing brutality
At the expense of
Human dignity
Individual rights
Doctor-patient privilege
A night to celebrate
A night of
Fantastic brilliant fireworks
Fireworks of freedom
For people smoking cigars
Smoke so thick darkening the sky
Smoke rings billowing
Spelling
Long live medicine

Long live Hippocrates
