We were terrible, a poem for all war victims by Dr. Salerian

We Were Terrible
For all war victims

Nameless bodies
Colorless ovens
Killing fields
Marching infants
Melting in the sun
Or freezing
Does it matter when
Why how or by whom
We were terrible
Incredibly terrible
Lacking something
Something essential
When bad things happened
And we kept waiting
For something good
To come
Something never came
Names places and times
Have changed many times
Untouched and unchanged

Are nameless bodies
