Born to be a thief DR Salerian POEM

Born To Be A Thief

Please Your Honor
Don't lock me up
I admit
I’ m a  thief
An innocent thief
Steal from mom dad
My ancient relatives
And others
I have stolen for instance
From JFK and Voltaire
Much from Van Gogh
Never stole from Beatles or Bach
I'm tone deaf
Can’t carry a tune
Can't resist a good thing
I adopt them
Then I forget
This is a new world
I must in writing
Tell the world who my teachers were
Your Honor
Show mercy
For a thief with a good heart
Honorable spirit
Who was born

A thief
