   Money and pain govern your life more than you realize.

  Two people in two different environments. A man with little money, married to a mean wife and bullied by his boss at work. And an independently wealthy man unhappily married with an unpleasant supervisor .

  They may have very different perceptions about life and happiness. One may think life is hell the other may say life is life ,good and bad.

 Why does money make such a big difference in our happiness?

 Partly because money is safety. Without money your survival is on the line.

  Being poor was difficult a few centuries ago and it will be difficult a few centuries from now.

   Ordinary challenges of life become giant factories of suffering for poor people. Just think of a decaying tooth. The suffering it may generate if it's not taken care of properly versus just a quick visit to a local dentist. How about travel ? The options of someone  who may wish to attend a funeral far away. Money  money may decide.

  Rich or poor ,we all respond to pain. Pain is a good teacher and more.

  Pain motivates us to problem solve.  Pain alerts us against internal and external threats. Pain activates our fight or flight responses. Money,  safety security comfort are our fight or flight responses.

 And in general our fight or flight responses run our lives much more than we realize.
