Psychiatry, DSM Deficits And 20,000 Doctors As
Victims

20,000 American doctors have been imprisoned
by criminalization of medicine in the last 10 years. This is a sad reality. Many blame DOJ or DEA
yet it seems likely that psychiatry and its infamous diagnostic tool DSM (the
diagnostic statistical manual of psychiatric disorders) are the real culprits.
What if DSM is flawed with major adverse
consequences for the public?
To say DSM is imperfect is to dismiss the
profound toxic impact of DSM for all Americans and the rest of the world who
take DSM seriously.
Here
is a snapshot of DSM-deficits.
I.
Does not differentiate a disease, from a disease progression or
complication. This is akin to not recognizing diabetic retinopathy as a
complication of diabetes.
II.
Is dismissive of eigenvalues – unobservable influences that govern
universe and brain function such as air, magnetic fields electricity or stress.
III.
Is dismissive of regional brain function and pathophysiology and
therefore fails to connect the dots between specific regional brain problems
and psychiatric symptoms. For instance many people with addiction have
observable abnormalities in their prefrontal cortex visible by functional MRI.
Conclusion
In the absence
of clarity anyone from a popular
television host to DEA may have odd and prejudicial theories about why people
become addicts.
To free good doctors like Dr. Paul Kelly,
Dr. Paul Volkman and Dr. Linda Cheek we
must first fix DSM.
Once we have a scientific diagnostic psychiatric
tool it will be difficult for DEA to lockup doctors for phantom causes.
