Let Us Kiss Without Lips DR Salerian poem and image

Let Us Kiss Without Lips
For Ole Dammegard

People came
The priest listened
“No longer a soldier
Without my gun”
How about your hands?
Father asked
“I lost manhood
My sad penis”
“Are fingers broken?”
Father said
“No longer a woman
My breasts gone”
“You can touch” he mumbled
“No freedom
Farewell life”
“Why quit my son” he smiled
“With or without cross
Ever so painful
We pray
We will pray
Till
Our hearts not beating
Not pumping fire
Flushing love
Let us hold hands
With no fingers
Let us kiss without lips
This is no God talking

This is life”
