We all need
money. We all love making money. It makes sense that if your business is
lucrative you want more business. This is perhaps why it is reasonable to
predict that we will see bigger wars and larger prisons.
Arm
merchants, prison builders, news media, high-tech security , national security
are not warmongers.
It is also true that they greatly benefit from
wars ,their wealth and influence exponentially increasing with crime, terror and
wars. Demand for weapons, security
systems news and prisons grow faster in a world of conflict than at times of
peace and order.
I'm not
suggesting that those industries engineer trouble to increase profits. However
it is impossible to deny that there is a huge conflict of interest, a
formidable obstacle for peace because of obvious financial interests enjoyed by
military-industrial complex, media and private prison systems.
There are
some logical answers for these questions. These are the questions I would
like to see our presidential candidates to debate. Not whether New Jersey
Muslims were cheering on 9/11.
